Cycle Breaker Poetry

LIFE IS A RIGHT

The same abusers have been targeting my family

For generations

As far back as the age of 3 and 4

I remember

Targeting my mother, grandmother, great-grandmother

Great great grandmother

Literally

They also target my children, nieces

Nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins

Anyone they wanted

Even threaten grands

Literally

But I’m the “threat”?

To what exactly?

That’s some kind of imagination

What fantastic beasts

Living in a world

Where predators consume

All that is needed

For sustainability

Morbidly

Dinosaurs

That’s what you are

Like the carnivorous ancestors

Who were wiped away

For a reason

Seven generations of torture

In just one lifetime

In one family

I’m only 47 years old

Imagine making it to 88

I’m DEFINITELY not going further

Here is where it ends

ANYONE who needs to hear that

Swallow it whole!

This is how it ends

There is no excuse for any of it

There never has been

There never will be

NO!

A complete sentence

THIS IS THE END

SO BE IT

However the cycle breaks

The chain remains broken

No is the answer

If you can’t accept this

You don’t belong in authority

Or near any form of power

Learn to control self

If you can’t stand criticism

You don’t belong in a leadership position

If you can’t take having your position challenged

You aren’t superior

You’re literally the opposite

If you can’t exist in a world

Where other people are entitled

To their own lives, possessions, choices

You don’t belong around people

If you can’t accept that

YOU DON’T OWN ME

You pay the price

PANDORA NEVER GOES AWAY!

I’ll keep blowing the whistle

Until the sky turns red!

I’m not a machine

I’m not an alien

I’m not a demon

I’m not stuck in a delusion

I’m not weak

I’m not a toy

I’m a Black American

A woman

A mother

I’m still fighting enslavement

It’s 2023

Not another moment

Will be stolen from me

No, it’s not a mentality

Enslavement is a crime

Against nature and humanity

Whenever crimes are committed

Against Black people

Definitions tend to change in the moment

Not this time

Never again

What Black America has survived

Is worst than labels can define

Atrocity after atrocity

Like a Black Inquisition

Sickness constantly

For centuries

And it’s still escalating

I’m not going to be dismissive of experiences

We all have

Our entire community

Because those who abuse

Demand escape from accountability

I’m going to keep blowing the whistle

LIFE IS A RIGHT

Not a commodity

THIS IS A PLANET

IT IS LIFE

NOT A POSSESSION

I’m not going to dumb myself down

To protect predators

Consuming my family

7 generations or more

Like we were born to be your food

Evolve already!

PANDORA

S/O KALI

SO BE IT
