What does hypocrisy look like

It looks like leadership

Telling the target

Of extreme human rights violations

To love their abuser

While ignoring the rights of the victims

Hypocrisy is

Telling the target of extreme torture

To embrace the torturer

Hypocrisy means

Ignoring the trauma

Caused by abuse

While condemning the abused

For being angry over being harmed

Misused

Hypocrisy is

Never holding abusers accountable

While systematically removing all protection

From their targets

Then scapegoating them

For the consequences

Hypocrisy looks like America

But I’m supposed to ignore this

Because abusers don’t like to be seen

In the light of day

Or be held accountable

Claiming they are superior

No thank you
