Poem

We All Need An Exit

Each time anyone

Tried to communicate

Without authorization

We were all punished

When they were allowed

It was within the strictest parameters

This over decades

People were punished

In the harshest ways

Poisoned

Killed

Tortured

Raped

Money stolen

Crimes pinned on them

Injected and infected

Anything the abuser wanted

We were all puppets

Imagine loving someone

But you can’t speak to them

It drives everyone insane

That was the whole point of it

What’s needed is intervention

Change

Accountability

Many of them want to escape

Survivors are still there

Trapped

Begging

Hard for me not to feel guilty

When leadership is so apathetic

As they themselves

Once sacrificing

Become the sacrifice

But this has always been the agenda

When will the elephant be addressed
